North Riding is a residential area of Randburg which, in turn, is part of Johannesburg. The area used to be known for its stables and equestrian pursuits but it is now a busy residential area.

The suburb is regarded as being affordable but also offering some good investment opportunities. It is a good area for families as it is well serviced by schools, shopping malls and numerous restaurants. There are also a number of medical facilities nearby.

The Golden Harvest Park is a great place to relax and get some exercise. There are paths that take you past a dam and through patches of indigenous bush. The park is fenced and there is an entrance fee payable.

The area got its name from one of the subdivisions of Yorkshire, England, going back hundreds of years.

North Riding is serviced by two main roads; Witkoppen Road and Malibongwe Drive. The Dome concert venue is nearby.
