Orpen Gate is situated on the western border of the Kruger National Park and is 43 km from Klaserie and 66 km from Hoedspruit. The gate is very close to Orpen, Tamboti and Maroela Camps and is 50 km away from Satara Camp.
There is very good game viewing in the vicinity and it is well worth entering the park for a day visit through this gate. The H7 tar road that leads to Satara is a good place to spot the Big 5 as well as Cheetah and Wild Dogs. At times there are large herds of Burchell's Zebra and Blue Wildebeest on the open stretches of grassland.
Fuel is available at the gate and refreshments can be bought at the shop at Orpen Camp.
