2020 South African Public Holidays
Afrikaans name: Suid-Afrikaanse openbare vakansiedae 2020
I think that most people will agree that 2020 was not a good year. This is true for South Africa and the rest of the world. The Covid-19 virus was first identified in China in December 2019 and spread across the world in 2020. Millions were infected and hundreds of thousands of people died. Most countries entered a lock-down state where people were confined to their homes and only allowed out for essential tasks. Mask wearing was also made compulsory in some countries. Thousands of businesses had to close, and millions of jobs were lost. It is certainly not a year that will be forgotten anytime soon.
