Henley-on-Klip is a picturesque village that is situated between Johannesburg and Vereeniging. It is on the banks of the Klip River which is where part of its name comes from. "Klip" is the Afrikaans word for "stone".

The village is the location for the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls which was established in 2007 by the famous talk show host.

Henley-on-Klip is a quiet and peaceful environment and some city workers choose to live their and commute to their jobs.

There are a number of interesting historical places in the village including the Witkop Blockhouse, Kidson Weir and the cemetery at St Paul's Anglican Church houses a number of interesting gravestones.

Accommodation in the area includes a guest house and a self-catering lodge.
