The town of Nieuwoudtville is well-known as a destination for people wanting to see the stunning spring flowers. The surrounding countryside is semi-arid and receives its 200mm of rain in winter. Summers are very hot.
Nieuwoudtville is also known for the nearby Nieuwoudtville Waterfall, the Quiver tree "forest", birding and hiking.
