Gardenia volkensii

The Eastern Bushveld Gardenia, or just plain Bushveld Gardenia, is a smallish tree that can grow to a height of 8 metres.

It gets large white flowers which turn yellow within a few days. Flowers are borne in spring and early summer.

Its fruit are quite large - normally around 6 cm in length.

Some mammals browse on the leaves of the Eastern Bushveld Gardenia.
