Cheilomenes lunata

The Lunate Ladybird is a typical ladybird in that it normally has red markings on a black background on its back. It has yellow patches on its head and sometimes has yellow, instead of red, on its back.

These Ladybirds are predatory insects that mainly feed on aphids. There love of aphids has made them a friend of farmers.

Lunate Ladybirds can be found in various habitats including grasslands and gardens.
