The Wildebeest's Review of "Birdwatching around Port Elizabeth"

The Wildebeest reviewing a book

“Birdwatching around Port Elizabeth” is a great addition to my collection guides to good birdwatching spots around South Africa. The Eastern Cape is not the most well-known province as far as birding goes and this booklet helps fill part of a gap.

Although it is only 32 pages in length it does include a lot of information. Quite a bit of that information takes the form of bird checklists for many of the selected locations. Some birders may have preferred more detail in the write-ups with less checklists. Others will enjoy ticking off their sightings against these lists. A few line drawings can be found here and there.

Some of the places included in “Birdwatching around Port Elizabeth” are Addo Elephant National Park, Cape Recife, Uitenhage Nature Reserve, Van Stadens Wild Flower and Nature Reserve and Gamtoos Estuary.
