Sable Dam Overnight Hide is located near Phalaborwa Gate, where you pick up the keys, in Kruger National Park. You enter the park on the H9 tar road and then take the S51 gravel road which leads to Sable Dam. The hide is located near the dam wall.

The dam is surrounded by Mopane trees which can limit the variety of wildlife seen, but there is a chance of seeing species such as Elephant, Cape Buffalo, Hippo, Lion, Eland, Burchell's Zebra and Warthog.

The hide can be used by any visitors to the park during the day but is only available overnight to those who have booked it from the office at Phalaborwa Gate. Remember to get up early otherwise you are going to get some early morning visitors waking you up!

The hide has a small ablution facility, with a long-drop toilet, and there are braai areas within the confined area of the hide. Take water and other drinks with as well as all your food. Insect repellant is a must, especially during summer. You will definitely need torches as well.
