The Wildebeest's Review of "Kruger National Park Visitors' Map"

The Wildebeest reviewing a book

Despite being flimsy, this “Kruger National Park Visitors’ Map” is something all visitors to the park should buy.

As you would expect from a map book it provides great maps of the road network, rivers and other features in the park. Tarred and gravel roads are shown in different colours. Each section of the road shows the distance making it easy to calculate the distance for your chosen drive and, importantly, the quickest way back to camp if you are running late. Remember that you will probably be fined if you arrive late at your camp or one of the gates.

Something that I particularly like is the different colours indicating the different ecozones in the park. You can then check the accompanying illustrations and text to find out what the dominant trees are in the habitat and the mammals likely to be seen in that habitat. This feature will help you plan your next drive.
